Holi health and children

Holi is celebrated especially in North India as and festival of color and by burning hoolika.

Along with colors, there come a few issues when playing Holi and sometimes after that, especially for kids and old age people few things may affect them adversely.

The colours of Holi the ones made with chemicals may contain heavy metals lead etc and also harmful coloring agents long with it.

These things may prove toxic and also may lead to allergic reactions in kids.

The various organs affected by it are the respiratory system, especially in asthmatic and allergy-prone individuals, skin and eye, and hair problems.

Now how to take care of it.

The ways which can help prevent all these problems --

1. Play Holi with herbal colors

2. Use less toxic chemicals

3. Use body creams to prevent excessive sticking of colors to the body

4 use sunscreen to prevent tanning

5. Use hair oil and we recommend using coconut oil before going out to play Holi

6. Cover yourself with full sleeves so that we can limit skin exposure.

7 avoid contact with eye etc

In case you face issues like irritation in the eyes, excessive redness of the skin, allergic reaction, etc kindly contact your doctor so that active intervention can be done in timely

How to treat if an issue arises

Do these simple steps in case of irritation to any skin/eye etc

In case of eye irritation wash your eyes with an ample amount of water.

Don't overwash with soap instead use simple cleansers.
